What do you like to do when you are not playing music?
I enjoy meeting my friends and also I like to watch dance and art.
At what age did you start playing your instrument?
At the age of six.
What was the most exciting concert you ever performed?
Lucky to choose from many: possibly the very first concert after the very long first lockdown with the fantastic Daniele Gatti and the wonderful GMJO in the ‘Musikverein’ hall in Vienna.
What was the most awkward moment in your career?
In the bowing process: after the excitement of In the concert, I simply forgot everything and totally made a fool of myself while staying on stage as the only musician left for – what seemed like – minutes, until my
colleague kindly helped me out.
What is your favourite piece of classical music?
If I would have to choose, at this point I think it would be Schubert’s quintet from the chamber music category.
How did the last two Corona years influence your musical development?
The pandemic and all the restrictions that came with it have actually impacted my life in many ways and in retrospective mainly helped remind me again of the privilege that I have as a musician to be able to do what I find essential for my life.
Which famous person would you like to have dinner with (from the past or the present)?
I would love to dine with the one and only Camille Pissaro.
