Where do you study?
I studied in Hamburg and Lucerne, and I am currently living in Stuttgart.
What do you like to do when you are not playing music?
Jogging, cycling, cross-country skiing, eating good food/drinking Campari Orange or going to the museum.
At what age did you start playing your instrument?
When I was about 3 years old. At that age, I announced that I wanted to play the cello, the oboe and the organ. When I was a small child, my father made me a kind of mini-cello. I was allowed to start playing when I was seven, after I had started playing the piano a year earlier.
What was the most exciting concert you ever performed?
Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. My first real solo concerto with an orchestra, playing this beautiful and extremely challenging concerto.
What is your favourite piece of classical music?
Since having the pleasure of playing Strauss’ „Metamorphosen“, I am somehow addicted to this piece.
How did the last two Corona years influence your musical development? They were definitely challenging and exhausting. I was productive at the beginning but simultaneously held back at the same time, since everything got cancelled. Then later, I was more exhausted and isolated, and now I am still kind of worried about what is to come.
Which famous person would you like to have dinner with (from the past or the present)?
Thilo Mischke, Richard Strauss, Barack Obama
