What do you like to do when you are not playing music?
Reading, yoga, walking our dog and going to the theatre, opera or concerts.
At what age did you start playing your instrument?
When I was 5 years old.
What was the most exciting concert you ever performed?
The sing-along concerts in Berlin, where a large part of the audience seats is occupied by choirs who all sing along.
What was the most awkward moment in your career?
During my entry onto an examination stage, the shoulder rest of my violin got stuck in my skirt, which resulted in me pulling up my skirt while lifting my violin to start playing.
What is your favourite piece of classical music?
Currently, it is Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major.
How did the last two Corona years influenced your musical development?
I think we all became more grateful for the fact that there are people who listen to us, since this resonance from an audience is such a big part of what we do as artists. Apart from that, these years have made me try harder to find my own sources of inspiration, and expand my horizon again and again.
Which famous person would you like to have dinner with (from the past or the present)?
Clara Schumann
