What do you like to do when you are not playing music?

Explore the world in other ways, travelling and getting to know new people.

At what age did you start playing your instrument?

When I was 4 years old.

What was the most exciting concert you ever performed?

Playing Shostakovich String Octet at Moritzburg Festival on the Castle Terrace on a warm summer night.

What was the most awkward moment in your career?

Preparing the wrong piece for a concert.

What is your favourite piece of classical music?

I have too many – one of them is “Im Abendrot” from Strauss’ „Vier letzte Lieder“.

How did the last two Corona years influence your musical development?

They have challenged me to be more honest with myself and depend less on outer structures or sometimes validation. Maybe along the way, I temporarily lost some of my self-confidence, but I like to think I am now regaining it in a stronger and longerlasting way.
