The Zermatter Alphornfreunde were founded in 1990 by Emil Biner, Martin Biner, Ivo Schuler, and Anton Lauber. As a traditional Alphorn association, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting Alphorn playing while fostering camaraderie among our members.

Passionate about this iconic instrument, we meet weekly to rehearse and perform together. Our diverse performances help turn any celebration or event into an unforgettable experience. In addition to our numerous engagements around Zermatt, the Zermatter Alphornfreunde regularly participate in regional and national Swiss yodeling festivals.

The Alphorn is an instrument for true connoisseurs. With no slides, keys, or valves, it requires exceptional skill and dedicated practice to produce beautiful melodies from this natural horn, which can reach up to 3.6 meters in length.

Our shared enthusiasm for the Alphorn unites us and drives us to keep this unique musical tradition alive.
